Port Royal is a town in Beaufort County, the southernmost county in South Carolina. As defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, Port Royal is included within the Beaufort Urban Cluster and the larger Hilton Head Island-Beaufort Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is located approximately equal distance between Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina and is contiguous with Beaufort, a coastal tourist town in Beaufort County.
